2014 Rewind

It's became something of a tradition to do a Yearly round-up of everything that's happened the past Year.

Well, what a Year it has been! I surpassed 400 followers on this blog, which to me is kind of crazy! I couldn't believe it and am so thankful for each and every one of you, who read this little space - I feel like a little Fish in a very big Pond!

Boxing Day Breakfast

Happy Boxing Day guys!
I thought that I would share one of my personal favourites for the morning after the festive Night before!

You'll need:

2 Cups of leftover Turkey
1 Cup of Mashed Potatoes/Roast Potatoes

Whatever else that you want to put in!

Firstly, chop/shred the Turkey into bitesize chunks and then mash the Potatoes with the Stuffing.

Christmas Preparations

Well hello there you gorgeous lot!

Firstly, apologies for not being on here for what feels like a century! My laptop is now up and running! I thought that I would kick off my first Blogpost back with a festive post!

Tonight, I've been decorating my Flat with festive cheer! Here are a few pictures of my colour theme!

Eats: Donegal

Are ye well 'cus you're looking' well!

Okay, okay. Enough of that malarky but hello! How are you guys doing?

If you've not been on my blog for a while (Naughty!) you may not have noticed a few little changes!
My blog redesign! (Number two thousand and twenty six...).

Seriously though, thank you for sticking with me while my MAC decided to turn against me and thank you for being so lovely about it. Point is: The MAC's fixed, I have a new blog design and I'm feeling refreshed from some time away from blogging and home, which leads me onto today's post.

Recently, I took a few days off work, packed a bag and headed to Donegal, Ireland for some R&R. While there, other than shopping, walking and a lot of laughing, I also ate..ALOT. So much so, I thought I'd blog about it, to make it slightly more justifiable...*Ahem*

Homemade Sausage Rolls with Coleslaw and Salad.

Technical Difficulties..

As some of you may know, if you follow me on Instagram, my laptop has decided to spontaneously conbust on me.

Yes. Just out of the blue, it decided that it didn't like me anymore and to basically, threaten me with the loss of all my photos. Every. Single. One.

Other than wanting to bang my head against a wall, I've been pretty calm about it all. It does however, mean that I may not be able to post in a while. I am giving you warning and to be fair, this is ALL the MAC's fault.

I hope to speak to you's soon. Until then..

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation

I'm currently sitting here loaded with the cold. Note to self: Don't wear just a vest Top to work, and then walk out in the pouring rain, to get to your Car. I can preach that it's definitely not worth it!

Regardless of my fragile (Slightly over-exaggerated) state, I am here with a review. I know, I know - It's been a while, but I promise you: It was worth it.

Today I am going to be talking about the one and only Estee lauder Double Wear Foundation.

My Go-To hairstyle

FINALLY. A Hair blogpost!

I feel like it's been lightyears since I've talked beauty.
I thought I would ease myself back into beauty blogging with a 'my Fave hairstyle of the moment'.
That being a top knot messy bun.

  • Flip your head over and grab it into a ponytail. I tend to brush through my hair when it's upside down to avoid those Hair bumps! (You know what I'm talking about ladies!).
  • Once you've securely tied your hair on top of your head, get another bobble and tie it as if you're doing the same thing, however on the last wrap, don't bring the hair the entire way through, almost as if your Hair will be in a loop shape.
  • From there, I grab my Hair and make it into a Bun shape, secure with more Bobbles and pins. I spray it in place and voila! I hope that made sense!

What's your go-to hairstyle?

Current Handbag Essentials

I've never done a spontaneous blogpost before.
Normally, I plan out where I'm going to take the pictures, angles, lighting etc. Today is different. I was uploading some family photos from my Camera, I had some make-up sitting out and decided to snap it! That make-up being my current Handbag essentials.

R & R.

It's currently 2am in the morning and I am sitting here with my just washed hair in plaits, just listening to some relaxing music. I wanted to do a blogpost of a more reflective kind. I hope you don't mind.

Recently, I've been going through a lot of difficult things. Things that are very personal and have pushed my blog and YouTube to the side and with good reason. I felt, for quite a while, that I was fading further and further away from myself and turning into this robot who has to keep pushing herself. At some point, it was clear that I needed a break.

I went over to England to visit some family and only was it then, that I realised how much I needed that time away. I had barely any communication with those outside of the little town I was staying in and to be honest, it felt amazing. I never thought I would say this, but having that distance from everything internet, really helped me to recover. It made me realise how much family means to me and that we should never take anything for granted. I got to meet 2 of my baby cousins for the first time, reconnected with old cousins and was able to be 100% myself.

I'm not the type of person to preach cliche sayings but it's quite true..La Vie Est Belle.
Life really is beautiful. It's definitely not easy or perfect, but it can be beautiful. Holding my 1 month year old baby cousin for the first time, it was truly special.

Having that time away, has helped inspire me and I am looking forward to blogging until my heart's content!

I hope some of this made sense! Haha
Until next time..

Change is good. It can also be incredibly scary.

As some of your may know, I recently decided to delete my beauty YouTube channel and created an entire new lifestyle channel dedicated to rambles, tags and fun videos. As I explained in my first video on that channel, I just felt that I wasn't enjoying creating beauty videos anymore and it came across in the videos.

It was incredibly daunting pressing that delete button. There was a lot of content on my old channel that I was really proud of from the editing to the reaction from the viewers. I needed a change though. You may have noticed that I haven't exactly been blogging as frequently. The reason being, I needed a break from everything internet.

I have had so much going on with house-hunting, a new job, making time for old friends, arranging trips, EVERYTHING. In the next week, I'm flying over to beautiful England to see some of my amazing family which I cannot wait for! I'm just so glad I booked a night flight!

All-in-all, I hope you are doing well. It's nice to catch-up. I will be back with some corker beauty reviews soon!

Until then...

Someday Summary 2 | Easter Festivities

Today is the second instalment of 'Someday Summary' in which I bring you a little recap of a day out.
One Easter Monday, we all decided to make a picnic, jump in the car and head to Omagh for some Easter festivities.

Someday Summary 1 | A day at the beach

*Stands up*
Hi there. I'm Amy and I'm a bad blogger.

Yes, yes. That may be a slight over-exaggeration but the principal is still there. Apologies for the lack of, well..anything on this blog. My WiFi conveniently decided to shut down on me for a week, which was just great.

Today I'm sharing what I've been up to recently over the Easter break. I have decided to turn this into a little series known as 'Someday Summary'. Be warned, this is picture heavy!

It was a Friday afternoon and work was done for the weekend, so we decided to go for a little bite to eat to kick off the weekend! It was such a beautiful day to just sit and relax with an ice cold drink.

The vampiest of Reds.. | Estee Lauder's 'Red Ego'

This may come as a shock to some of you but I have never tried Estee Lauder.
I don't really know why. I guess I've just always gravitated more towards MAC or Urban Decay but recently I decided to try out a few of their products, one of them being their Pure Colour Envy Lipstick in 'Red Ego' which I can only describe as the most beautiful vampy red I've ever seen.

To Be Determined..

Ever get that feeling when everything is 'To be confirmed'..?

As in everything in your life? That's me right now.
I'm in that awkward transition at the moment. Here's a summary of the latest goings on in my life..

If you somehow missed the news: I got a Job! A full 9 to 5 job! I'm now a grown woman thinking about taxes, contracts, house hunting, driving etc.  I am loving my new job and definitely wouldn't change anything! I see a lot of Bloggers/YouTubers saying this but I don't think I've ever been so busy in my life! A good busy though!

I have a lot of goals for this year, some start at home such as learning to drive. Some further afield like travelling to Italy. Regardless, I am really excited for this year even if it's slightly scary. I will keep you's updated on the progress!

I am wanting your input for future blogposts because as many of you know, the plan a few months ago was to post twice a week, but that's definitely not possible anymore so what would you prefer? Friday, Saturday or Sunday? I don't mind as long as you'd are still liking my blogposts and give me feedback, that's all I can ask for!

Today is just going to be a little catchup! I will be back tomorrow with a new beauty blogpost because I've missed having a good old chat about beauty!

Update 2.0

It's been too long. I feel like I haven't written a blogpost in ages and to be honest, I miss it!
So, before I start, I want to know something..How are you? Let me know in the comments!

If you don't follow me on Twitter, you may not know but I'm at a new job which as much as it's a brilliant thing, it means that I am very busy. This leads me nicely onto the next topic: Apologies for the lacks of blogposts! I will be trying to keep you's up to date and start scheduling posts but for the next few weeks, it may be slightly disorientated!

This is just (again!) another update but I promise that I will get things sorted soon!

Until then, take care! :)

A Weekend Away in Dublin | The Sequel

If you follow me on Twitter, you'll probably know I was recently in Dublin.
I went to Dublin to see the one and only Beyonce in concert and if you've been following my blog for a while, you may know that this isn't the first time. Last May, I went to see B also, which you can read more about here.

I thought I'd share with you's how it became to be the best weekend ever. Literally. Ever.

We stayed at the Grand Canal Hotel which is literally minutes form the Aviva Stadium. It was also a happy coincidence that there was a rugby match on that weekend and Ireland won so the atmosphere was incredible.

As soon as we checked in, we headed down Grafton street for some retail therapy! We headed straight to Brown Thomas and my Mum got her eye make-up done at the Chanel counter.

We went around Stephen's Green but didn't end up buying anything. I know, weird right?
This is when the most incredible thing ever happened. Me and my Mum were walking out of the shopping centre when my Mum stopped me. Standing metres away from us was one of 'Les Twins' who are Beyonce's male dancers. They've been featured in many of her videos and she actually said during her concert that they were: 'Her best friends'. I was in complete shock, I couldn't even process who it was standing in front of me. Larry from Les Twins, who performs with Beyonce every night on the tour, metres away from me.

This then happened..

I do just want to say that I did get two pictures and the other is a nicer/smiley one but I thought this one would be more appropriate considering I was trying to act calm on the outside even though, really I was screaming in my head! Haha

Safe to say that after that, I walked around with my Mum talking to me about Shoes and Dresses and I honestly, still don't have a clue what she said. All I remember is standing in the middle of Oasis and crying. No joke.

We then grabbed some food at the hotel (Let's be honest, I was no use to anyone after meeting Larry!) and then we headed back to the room. I got a bath and tried to process what happened. It was a nice relaxed Friday and an amazing start to Dublin!

The next morning, we got up early, got breakfast and headed out for some more retail therapy. We decided to go to another shopping centre that one of the taxi drivers had mentioned in passing. I'm so glad he did! The place being Dundrum Shopping Centre. WOW.

If you like shopping, you will love it her. I couldn't actually photograph the scale of this place in one single picture. It's the largest shopping centre in Ireland and boy, isn't it just. I have honestly never seen a bigger shopping complex in my life. It was unbelievable.

The shops made it even better. You had House of Fraser, Harvey Nichols, Jamie Italian, Body Shop, Nandos, M&S, Aldo, Kiehl's, L'Occitane, Inglot...EVERYTHING. I would have to do a whole separate blogpost of just the shops here. It had 4 floors and you would need about a week to get around every single one of them. (Even for an experienced shopper like myself!).

While in Dundrum, we decided to get ours nail painted at Nails Inc. I went for Baker Street which, if any of you are Beyonce obsessed like myself, you'll know this was the colour she wore when she made her first public appearance after having Blue Ivy.

It's a gorgeous royal Blue and I love it!
We headed back to the hotel, got ready for Bey and went to the concert!

Me and my Mum at the concert!

The beautiful and talented Queen B herself. Bey was absolutely incredible. Definitely the best concert  - Even better than the last time I seen her. This concert was definitely focused more on empowering woman and showing the different sides of women and I have to admit, I did cry a few times!

On our last day in Dublin, we just relaxed in the hotel reception. We got lunch, chatted and just enjoyed the last few hours of us being in the beautiful city.

I really enjoyed Dublin and writing this blogpost, makes me miss it already! I will definitely be back soon! An incredible weekend and one I will never forget!

Have you ever been to Dublin?

How To: Grey Smoky Eye Look

Since my 'Week in Pictures', I got so many of you asking for a guide to how I created my eye look.
It was honestly a last minute decision to do the look on the eyes but you's seemed to like it!

Pep Talk?

I'm currently writing this with my Yankee Candle burning, in a hoodie with my hair in a top knot. Just thought you should know that..

Today I am going to write about something that has been bugging me for a while now and I know we all go through this from time to time: Lack of Motivation. Yes, the age old dilemma of how to get motivated. It's a toughie. I've read so many articles on the 'world wide web' about this topic and to be honest, some of them are not helpful in the slightest so I thought I'd give you a few tips, from personal experience.

Think Positive - This is the simplest thing. Think of a time you accomplished something and how you felt after. Great, wasn't it? Apply that to a current dilemma and think how you'll feel after you complete the task!

Baby Steps - I had this as my background picture for a while because I always tend to get anxious if I think about the big picture or how much work I have to do. If I divide it into smaller tasks, it doesn't seem as bad. Think of, in Friends, when Chandler wasn't sure if he wanted to go through with getting married. Remember Ross broke the process into small steps? THAT!

If at first you don't succeed... - Try, try again. Just because there's a bump in the road, doesn't mean you stop travelling. I always try to embrace the fact that with everyday I am learning. I feel that our failures make us stronger and more determined. Just keep swimming!

Self-assurance - Believe in yourself. You are the most powerful person in completing a task. We all get moments of doubt, but remember, you are stronger than you think!

So, that was my little pep talk for you!
What's your one tip for motivation?

Current Skincare Routine

Skincare is one of those things that I try to invest my time into.
Sometimes I find myself reaching for the faces wipes but for the most part, I try to keep to a routine.

I feel that skincare is the most important step in a woman's beauty routine. I've always said that if you have a good canvas for your make-up, your make-up sits better. I had got a request for a skincare video, which I will be doing over here, but until then, I thought I'd blog about it! Before I start, I want to state my skin type: I have oily/combination skin and have a fair amount of natural redness in my skin.

Let's get started!

My Week In Pictures

Ever since I began blogging, I've felt more of a need to document my life. I want to be able to look back in a few months or even years and see my progression.

I thought that every Tuesday I would do a lifestyle-related post and then Friday's is more beauty and fashion! So, today I am going to be sharing a week of my life in pictures. Here it goes!

Catching up on my favourite blogs!

That was my 'A week in pictures'! Some are from my Instagram so if you like these kind of picture/lifestyle posts, you may like my Instagram! You can check it out here!
