Tanya Burr's blog was one of the first I read and loved, so when Tanya announced that she would be bringing out her own range of Lip and Nail products, I simply had to review them!
If you're not sure who Tanya is, she is a beauty and fashion blogger with her own YouTube channel and now make-up range! Tanya released her Lip and Nail range at the end of January and within days were sold out! I bought 6 products in the collection:
|(L-R: Little Duck, Midnight Sparkles, Vampire Kiss, Afternoon Tea, Bright and Early and Penguin Chic.)|
First, let's talk about the Nail Polishes. The packaging is in the 'Nars-style' and is a welcome change from your typical bottles. Tanya's signature is also printed, which makes it more personal - I definitely feel that she has added her personal touch to this range, right down to the names.
Now onto the important part - The quality. In general, I couldn't believe how great these were. The polish applicator is your standard applicator but the formula and consistency is great - I applied one coat and my nails looked perfect. You could definitely apply two coats for that extra strength against chips, but it's definitely not needed. (A bonus for on the go!)
I decided to really put the polish to the test so, about an hour after painting, I washed my hair and there were no noticeable chips. This for me, is a big positive because I don't want to worry about reaching into my make-up bag and realising the polish was only dry to touch and ruining them. (We've all been there!) The polish dried super quick and the finish was just beautiful.
Now onto the Lip collection. Firstly, I just want to say how amazing these smell! These have a really sweet scene of Strawberry laces and it just takes me back to my childhood!
As you were..
The two shades I got were Afternoon tea which is a 'Your Lips but better' kind of shade and then Vampire Kiss which is a classic red. The packaging is fairly similar with the addition of a little heart doodle on the top of the lip, which is a cute little touch.
The quality of these are much the same as the polishes: Incredible.
I don't tend to wear Lip Glosses that often as I find them sticky on the lips and one swift move from the wind and you've got half your hair stuck to your face, so I was expecting to like the colour but not so much the formula.
These glosses are honestly like no other I have tried. They aren't sticky or tacky at all on the lips and have a really nice 'Wet-look' finish which I personally love. The pigment is fairly good with one coat but I prefer to apply 2/3 coats to get a good bold colour and even after 3 coats, they didn't feel overly tacky on the lips!
Overall, I have fallen head over heels with this range! I love the quality, packaging and the inexpensive price tag, which is always a bonus. You can really tell how much love and dedication has went into this range. It's truly incredible how all the beauty bloggers have supported Tanya and we're all so proud!
I would definitely recommend this range!
