Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation

I'm currently sitting here loaded with the cold. Note to self: Don't wear just a vest Top to work, and then walk out in the pouring rain, to get to your Car. I can preach that it's definitely not worth it!

Regardless of my fragile (Slightly over-exaggerated) state, I am here with a review. I know, I know - It's been a while, but I promise you: It was worth it.

Today I am going to be talking about the one and only Estee lauder Double Wear Foundation.

Isn't it a beauty?
I had heard a lot about this in the blogging world about it being especially great for those with oily/combination and me falling into that category, I was instantly intrigued.

The first thing that sprung to mind when I tried this was the coverage. Having red toned and generally blemished skin, I prefer a heavier coverage foundation without the heavy feeling on the skin. When first applied, it instantly gives that 'Airbrush' effect, which I love.

The consistency and formula are both fairly heavy which is definitely the biggest downside because I feel as if I'm concealing blemishes by covering them with a foundation that's going to potentially create more. Even with the heavy duty formula, I didn't notice any breakouts which is a plus!

Once applied, it almost sets on the face and turns matte. This would be perfect if you have oily/combination skin, like myself. Pair this with you're go-to bronzer and you're read to go! It tends to last around 6-8 hours, which is fairly good.

Overall, I really enjoyed this foundation. If i had one criticism, it would be that it can tend to go a slightly more orangey shade towards the last few hours on the Face. I am pretty pale though!

Have you tried this Foundation?

  1. I don't really tend to wear foundation (I'm a BB cream girl) but I'd be interested in trying this! x

  4. I used to use double wear, and your right it is really good for oily skin, maybe even too good... I'm an oily skin girl and made my skin look dry in the less oiler places which I really didn't like! When I first started using it, I liked the heavy full coverage it gave me, but I started to depise this toward the end and I started to realise it looked a bit cakey! I switched to Benefit big easy and now the body shops tea tree oil bb cream as it's getting hotter and I am loving the lighter coverage! I've definitely been getting less spots since I've stopped using it as well! It's good that you like it though, but if you ever want to switch to something lighter, I would definitely recommend the tea tree oil bb cream - it gives surprisingly good coverage!
